The SMAG Fan Folder F1 is a new generation of Gearless fan folding machine which has been created to fan fold web’s with or without sprocket holes. This equipement can be used either :
+ In line with any rotary printing or converting press,
+ Off line with its own unwind stand (option).

• Advantages

- Gearless system.
- No electrical and mechanical connections are required with the machine ahead when the F1 is working Inline. The F1 Fan Folder automatically adjusts its speed to the speed of the master machine, while keeping perfect web tension.
- Easy and quick set up.

- Mounted on castors with stabilising brake : easily transferable from machine to machine.
- The conveyor can be raised to an upright position which enables you to move the F1 easily and reduce the space required when the F1 is not in use.

• General Presentation and purposes

From a printed roll of labels or label stock (conventional labels, carton...), the SATURNE independant sheeter enables to slit and sheet into individual pieces. The advance (sheeting) length is controlled through a numerical feeding motor linked to a touch screen panel and a register sensor (which is able to read printing spot, or a hole, or a gap between two labels, or a color on the labels). Then those labels (individual or sheets) are accumulated on a programable conveyor with light and sound warnings.

- Off line Independant equipment. However this unit can also under certain conditions be used in line with semi rotary press such Galaxie, Iwasaki range...
- Slitting unit incorporated into a cassette system which can be removed out side of the press for easy set up.
- High accuracy due to the fact that a numerical feeding station is used (as fitted to the Galaxie).
- Security (fully guarded and interlocked).
- Accessibility to the working station and the functions of the unit.

• General Presentation

The SMAG URANUS is a two spindle semi automatic turret rewinder which can be installed in line with a wide range of converting and printing presses with a very simple electrical interface and no mechanical connections.
The concept of this machine is to answer to the growing demand on the market for a simple, easy handling, easy carrying, reliable and economical non- stop rewinder
The Uranus is available in two web width : 350 mm or 420 mm.

• Functions
The process is the following :

- Loading of the carton cores by the press operator onto the pneumatical mandrels (The Uranus is delivered in standard with 76 mm mandrels but can be equipped as options of all sizes from 40 mm to 76 mm).
- The cores are then glued automatically with a « Nordson » hot melt gluing unit.
- A pre-selection is entered into the touch screen of the Uranus (length or number of labels), and then when the target is reached, the web is cut and is automatically transfered to a new pre-glued core.
- The finished rolls are automatically ejected onto the loading arm for easy removal.

A new option is now available for turning the web and slitting before the Uranus. The great advantage of this option is to have the slitting unit (slitting cassette concept as on the C4R+) very close of the rewinding section which is giving the opportunity to rewind on the Uranus up to 6 strips (For further information go to the new products section).
